MESTIZO COLOMBIA : FROM THE ANDES TO THE PLAINS
Colombian mestizo musical instruments are the result of the fusion of indigenous, African and European traditions, giving rise to a rich variety of sounds and styles. These instruments, such as the tiple, the bandola and the chucho, reflect the cultural diversity of the country and are essential in popular and traditional music. Depending on the sound territory where they are played (Andes - Central West - South East or Eastern Plains), they are associated with regional tunes and rhythms such as the torbellino, the bambuco or the joropo.
