The Mundo Sonoro collection is a unique sample of musical instruments from different cultures of the world, contrasted with the diversity of traditional and popular Colombian instruments. It proposes to the visitor an aesthetic dialogue that invites to travel through an incomparable universe of forms, aesthetics and "humanly organized sounds" (Blacking, 2003) that impact the observer to contemplate in a single space the inexhaustible human creativity to transform the materials of their natural and cultural environment in different periods of history.
Beyond the contemplation of the sound object, visitors can have a real contact with the sound and operation of musical instruments, supported by live demonstrations and infographic resources (texts, photographs, catalogs and videos) that bring them directly to the cultural context of each instrument.
The integral perception of music within the exhibition offers visitors other in-depth experiences by participating in artistic activities such as concerts, expert talks on the instruments and their cultures, as well as workshops on the interpretation or construction of traditional Colombian instruments.
